Il grande vecchio

Eh si, lo merita veramente il titolo "grande vecchio" questo maestoso ippocastano: fa ombra al viandante e offre riparo agli uccelli da un paio di secoli e raggiunge un'altezza di circa 23m. Si trova di fronte alla chiesetta del Pasco (Cavallermaggiore)

Oh yes, this majestic horse chestnut tree truly deserves the title "grand old man": it has shaded travelers and offered shelter to birds for a couple of centuries and reaches a height of around 23m. It is located in front of the small Pasco church (Cavallermaggiore)

Betulla solitaria

 

Durante la discesa dalla baita superiore, siamo a Pian Munè sulle alture di Paesana, ho incontrato questa betulla solitaria abbarbicata sul pendio; sembrava che si godesse l'ultimo sole della giornata. L'ho fotografata e poi a casa....

During the return from the upper baita, we are at Pian Munè on the Paesana uplands, i met this lonely birch clinging on the gradient; seemed it was enjoing the last sun of the day: I shooted a photo and then at home...

Cavallermaggiore, campagna

Questo è il tipico paesaggio della campagna cavallermaggiorese: in primo piano un pioppeto con le chiome che cominciano ad ingiallire; sul medio piano il Rocciamelone (altezza massima 1300m.) e sullo sfondo la "nostra" montagna, il Monviso, con le prime chiazze di neve.

This is the  typical landscape of Cavallermaggiore country: in the foreground a poplar grove with the foliage starting to turn yellow; on the middle the Rocciamelone (max altitude 1300m.) and on the background "our" mountain, the Monviso, with the first spots of snow.
