Santa Vittoria d'Alba
Sembra che il nome derivi dalla vittoria dei romani (402 d.C.) su Alarico, re dei Visigoti: nelle nebbie mattutine i Barbari, scambiando la ripetitiva geometria dei pali delle viti con la regolare simmetria delle lance dell’esercito romano, rimasero confusi e furono facile preda dei romani.
It seems that the name comes from the victory of the romans (402 a.C.) vs. Alarico king of the Visigoti: in the morning fog, the barbarians mistaking the poles of the vines with the lances of roman army, was confused and became easy prey of the romans.
