Cavallermaggiore, Madonna del Castiglione

Nella quiete della campagna di Cavallermaggiore presso la località Castiglione  sorge questa antica chiesetta, eretta nel 1630 in seguito alla liberazione dalla peste (quella manzoniana per intenderci), in seguito ingrandita ed abbellita nel 1756. In passato era abitata da un eremita che ne aveva cura.            La foto da cui ho ricavato questo acquerello l'avevo scattata a settembre dopo la mietitura del granoturco. In primavera  può capitare di vederla immersa in una moltitudine di fiorellini bianchi di camomilla romana.

In the quiet of the Cavallermaggiore countryside near the Castiglione area stands this ancient church, built in 1630 following the liberation from the plague (the Manzonian one to be clear), later enlarged and embellished in 1756. In the past it was inhabited by a hermit who took care of it. . The photo from which I got this watercolor I had taken in September after the corn harvest. In springs it may happen to see it immersed in a multitude of white flowers of Roman chamomile.
